The instrumental band sennen started in 2000 as a group of friends bound by their love for shoegazing and post-rock music. their first ep 'periphery' was recorded in summer 2004. after doing several shows in the netherlands and abroad, 2 members left the band. with the arrival of a new bass player in july 2005, the 4-piece band continued with a somewhat altered vision on gripping instrumentals: a thematic approach with instruments picking up the melody in turn, plunged into atypical rhythms in an erratic atmosphere.

the main course of sennen is to continuously renew and broaden their perception on 'atmosphere' in an elegant way, to challenge the listener with a clue that's not too obvious. sennen's music can be classified as 'edgy guitar driven jazz-like uptempo postrock with trumpet, exotic rhythms and grunting bass'.

sennen released their mini-album 'automatic writing' in february 2007 . this album is licensed under 'creative commons' and can be downloaded for free at www.simuze.nl

sennen is currently working on new songs and preparing a couple of video performance shows to be held in fall 2007. a small tour planned for this spring has been cancelled, but there will be one in february 2008.
